The biggest point of interest at Apple’s recent hardware event on the September 12 was the announcement of a new line of iPhones, but if we’re going off audience reactions, they were by far outshined by the reveal of the new Apple Watch Series 4.

A bigger screen, faster chip and new health monitoring, the new Series 4 amps up a few core features. Aesthetically, the new Series 4 also has smaller bezels, a constant query about Apple designs and making it 30 per cent larger than the Series 3. It will also be available in three colours: silver, gold and space grey.

The Series 4 also features fall detection and a built-in electrocardiogram, or ECG, with the use of new electrodes that can detect more variants in cardiac activity, making it the first over the counter ECG of this calibre. The ECG measures the heart’s rhythm and can detect the presence of atrial fibrillation. The fall detection feature can even make an emergency call after the device detects a fall.
