Stratosat Kymeta launch
The first commercially available flat-panel, electronically-steered antenna from Kymeta delivers satellite connectivity where it’s never been before.
Stratosat Datacom and Kymeta Corporation, flat-panel satellite antennas, are herewith announcing a partnership agreement. The agreement allows Stratosat Datacom to officially provide Kymeta products and services to the mobility markets in Sub Saharan Africa.
Kymeta KyWay terminals will form an essential part of solutions and services provided to the transportation, construction, security, defence, and maritime markets’ communications on the move. They feature innovative electronically-steered, flat-panel Ku-band antennas. The slim and lightweight profile has no moving parts, simplifying maintenance, and eliminating much of the cost and infrastructure required by traditional VSAT antennas. The bundled KĀLO network services offering instant internet connectivity are easy to purchase, as it resembles a familiar consumable pricing structure of flexible data packages and offers complete global coverage.
Stratosat Datacom recognizes the need to enhance connectivity in this highly dynamic market environment in Africa and therefore partnering with Kymeta Corporation with its leading-edge technology for satellite mobile connectivity is a strategic move. The Stratosat product range will see new product offerings and customer specific solutions to meet the demand for mobile satellite communication across Africa. With its branches in various African countries, it can provide the necessary local support.
Chad Minnaar, Head of Sales at Stratosat Datacom stated, “Stratosat Datacom is proud to become a partner of Kymeta in Africa and is excited to launch this ground-breaking technology, which is opening previously untapped vertical markets due to historic high price barriers.”
David A. Harrower, Senior Vice President of Global Sales at Kymeta stated, “Backed by U.S. and international patents and licenses, our satellite terminals make high-throughput, mobile communications possible in cars, trains, buses, trucks, boats, and much more. Partnering with technology companies such as Stratosat Datacom will allow us to venture into untapped markets in Africa.”
